  4. - Reimplement the support for the use of cyrillic fonts for LaTeX2e.
  5.   For this reason russian.sty is not part of this release.

  7. - Support for both T1 and OT1 encoded fonts

  9. - Add active " character to danish.sty, `
  10.   as suggested by Peter Busk Laursen: 
  11.   To support characteristics in the danish language, I would find it
  12.   usefull, if the following features could be incorporated in danish.sty:
  13.  
  14.         "|      disable ligature at this position.
  15.         "-      an explicit hyphen sign, allowing hyphenation
  16.                         in the rest of the word.
  17.         ""      like |"-|, but producing no hyphen sign
  18.                         (for compund words with hyphen, e.g.\ |x-""y|).
  19.         "`      lowered double left quotes (looks like ,,).
  20.         "'      normal double right quotes.
  21.         ">      for Danish left double quotes (similar to $>>$).
  22.         "<      for Danish right double quotes (similar to $<<$).

  24.   It should also be possible to use commands (feel free to find other
  25.   names):
  26.         \lqq    lowered double left quotes (,,)
  27.         \rqq    normal double right quotes ('')
  28.         \lq     lowered single left quotes (,)
  29.         \rq     normal single right quotes (')
  30.         \klqq   lowered double left quotes (>>)

  32.         \klq    lowered single left quotes (>)

  34.         \dq     the original quotes character (")

  36.   The k in \klqq is from the danish word "korporalsvinkel" (a corporals
  37.   distinction).

  39. - Add slovakian quotatian characters,
  40.   as suggested by Jana Chlebikova:
  41.   we have another quotation characters as in English. The opening
  42.   quotation character is similar to Polish opening quotation (see
  43.   Proceedings from EUROTEX'92, pages 125) and closing quotation
  44.   characters is similar as German cl. quat. For ilustration I send you
  45.   macros (from another slovak.sty) with this things. In that sty you
  46.   can use both (english and slovak quotations marks) depending on the
  47.   value \csprimeon or \csprimeoff.  I think, it is a good idea and
  48.   macro looks quite nice. According me something similar is neccesery
  49.   to do in babel-slovak.sty.
